Amadi Williams is a multidisciplinary artist based in Brooklyn, NY. Her work delves into the intricate themes of Blackness, family, and color, utilizing both personal and online archives to explore storytelling and highlight overlooked and underrepresented groups. Influenced by artists such as Barkley L. Hendricks, Kerry James Marshall, and Nina Chanel Abney, Williams challenges stereotypes related to appearance within contemporary visual culture, advocating for unconventional representations and ideas.
Currently, Williams is advancing her artistic practice through the Rhode Island School of Design’s undergraduate program, with plans to graduate in the Spring of 2025.
